Our experienced investigators can help determine whether your child
is being cared for properly while out of your view and in the control of
others. Things that we would typically look for are:

  • Is the parent in question spending quality time with the child?
  • Does the parent dump the child off with relatives or a
babysitter to go out Friday/Saturday night when he/she just
picked up the child for the weekend?
  • Is the child being exposed to others of questionable character
at the residence or other location?
  • Is the child being taken care of a majority of the time by
    someone other then the parent?
  • Is the child being transported safely in a vehicle?
  • Is the child allowed to roam around the neighborhood
    unsupervised?
  • Is the child home each night at an age appropriate time?

What we typically see in Child Custody battles is that while one of

the parents is fighting for custody they really do not have a true interest in the child.  It may be that the
grandparents are in the background controlling the situation or that they are just using this as leverage
for future negotiations.  What we try to show is that the parent in question would rather be doing other
things then spending quality time with the child or that they place the child in danger through a faulty
decision making process.

I have been working as a Maryland Private Investigator for 13 years.
I still find it very interesting and challenging to document someone's
activities without their knowledge. The most difficult part of this job
is being able to follow someone in a vehicle.  I wish it was as easy as
they make it appear on television.  When is the last time you saw a
television show where the person being followed was lost in traffic?

Most people have an expectation that they can have someone
followed all day/night long.  Although it may be possible to watch a
stationary location for days at a time without being discovered, it is
very difficult to follow a vehicle all day long without being discovered.

The success or failure of having someone followed depends on a
number of factors.  The type of person being followed (aware of their
surrounding, high speed driver), traffic conditions (rush hour, heavy
rain, a lot of traffic lights), country roads v.s. open  highway,
night v.s. day and the distance being traveled.

It's a Balancing Act between "don't lose him/her" and "don't get
caught".  There are no guarantees.  It may take multiple attempts to
accomplish your surveillance goals when following a vehicle is part of
the requirement to gather evidence. As part of our discussion related
to your surveillance goals we will also ask you some questions related
to following your spouse.  There are times where the investigator
may notice a change in the targets driving behavior which may

The purpose of surveillance is to gather information on an individual without
their knowledge.  The information obtained is typically documented by
having the investigator type a detailed report.  The report would include the
surveillance date, starting time, description of what is observed upon arrival
at the surveillance location (vehicles present, tag number, etc.).  The report
would continue with all activity of the subject being monitored and/or
interaction with others, places visited.  Video tape of these activities would be
available for review by our client at the conclusion of the surveillance event.
Important video would be converted into photos and inserted into the report.
Surveillance
The report would conclude with the time the investigator discontinued surveillance, arrival time back at
the office, total miles traveled and any expenses.  An invoice would be created based on this information
for our client to review.  Based on the results of the surveillance event the client can then decide if any
additional surveillance is required.  Our client has to decide what, if anything, should be done with the
evidence.

Most surveillance events are scheduled a few days ahead of time but there are times where we are able to
react the same day.  The important thing is that you get your paperwork into our office so that we have
everything we need to get started in the event something last minute comes up.  There is no charge for
you to submit your paperwork and allow us to have your case file up to date.  You may never need to use
our services in which case we would shred your documents once you know everything is fine at home.

Our investigators travel throughout the state of Maryland to conduct surveillance.  In some situations we
are allowed to travel out of the state in order to gather evidence for your case.

indicate that they have become curious about one or both of our vehicles.  Some people like to take a low
risk approach and other are more aggressive.  In this situation with a low risk client the investigators
would immediately break off.  A more aggressive approach would be to continue following the target until
we are certain that there are testing to see if they are being followed.
