| I have been working as a Maryland Private Investigator for 13 years. I still find it very interesting and challenging to document someone's activities without their knowledge. The most difficult part of this job is being able to follow someone in a vehicle. I wish it was as easy as they make it appear on television. When is the last time you saw a television show where the person being followed was lost in traffic? Most people have an expectation that they can have someone followed all day/night long. Although it may be possible to watch a stationary location for days at a time without being discovered, it is very difficult to follow a vehicle all day long without being discovered. The success or failure of having someone followed depends on a number of factors. The type of person being followed (aware of their surrounding, high speed driver), traffic conditions (rush hour, heavy rain, a lot of traffic lights), country roads v.s. open highway, night v.s. day and the distance being traveled. It's a Balancing Act between "don't lose him/her" and "don't get caught". There are no guarantees. It may take multiple attempts to accomplish your surveillance goals when following a vehicle is part of the requirement to gather evidence. As part of our discussion related to your surveillance goals we will also ask you some questions related to following your spouse. There are times where the investigator may notice a change in the targets driving behavior which may |

| The purpose of surveillance is to gather information on an individual without their knowledge. The information obtained is typically documented by having the investigator type a detailed report. The report would include the surveillance date, starting time, description of what is observed upon arrival at the surveillance location (vehicles present, tag number, etc.). The report would continue with all activity of the subject being monitored and/or interaction with others, places visited. Video tape of these activities would be available for review by our client at the conclusion of the surveillance event. Important video would be converted into photos and inserted into the report. |
